Frequently Asked Questions
Do you just do Shakespeare Plays?
Shakespeare is near the center of all we do, but we do more than just Shakespeare. We advise on, entertain at, help promote, and create Renaissance Faires and Shakespearean Festivals for smaller communities. We also have a fundraising program to help non-profits. We also teach. Currently, our Founder is an adjunct instructor with Western Washington University (Bellingham, WA) Seattle Central College (Seattle, WA) and The University of Alaska - Fairbanks (on-line OLLI program) continuing education departments.
Can I get involved?
WELCOME! We have never met an honest person who cannot find something to learn, something to share, and something to love about Shakespeare, the Renaissance, and the Community / Family that grows around Ren Faire/Shakespeare communities. If you have one hour a month and live in Spain, you could post notices of our events on similar-interest chat groups. If you love to build, we have props, stages, and decorations to construct. If you want to learn performing, we can help train you and give you the experience of performing at a Ren Faire. If you have an unused warehouse, we have props, armor, costumes, and wood that would love to find a donated space to live.
A Faire is like a City, and there are a thousand things that need doing. Sometimes it’s helping people park, sewing a tabard, helping a Merchant find their booth, or a lost parent find their child on the Faire Grounds. Sometimes it’s helping put up posters, answering the phones, helping with tracking our volunteer list or doing accounting.
Every person of good will has a place with The Washington Shakespearean Festival.

Also, a home for a Shakespearean Festival, a Re-creation Historical Farm, a re-enactment site (SCA, RoC, Black Powder, Roman, LARP…) with Camping, Woods, Training Facilities, Gathering Areas/Campsites, permanent Merchant Areas. A small city with craftsfolk teaching, creating, and making a life in our Village. And be a production facility for music, theatre, dance, TV, Film, Audio, research, presentation, school groups, tourism, and more.
Is WSF a Business?
